The glitterati descended on Toronto last week and not just for the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. MineAfrica and the Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business's African mining events showcased a glittering lineup of African focussed gold mining and exploration companies.
Opening the market at the Toronto Stock Exchange was a fun and exciting kickoff on Thursday September 17, 2009.
That evening Mark Bristow, Chief Executive Officer, Randgold Resources delivered a candid talk to a still buzzing audience of 155 at the Canada-South Africa Chamber of Business 8th Annual Indaba dinner. David Creighton, President of Cordiant Capital (and Chamber Chairman) was selected as the Chambers' Business Person of the Year sponsored by Hatch. Calvin White won the grand door prize - a $C8,750 trip for two to South Africa.
